The special online event will take place next month and focuses on improving the number of women councillors ahead of the local elections next year.

The special extensions will run from December 11 until January 2 to run through the Christmas and New Year period.

There were almost 750 of the special licences granted across the region, compared to just over 300 from the corresponding period in 2025.
