Advocate General questions the basis of EU wastewater rules

3 September 2026 at 17:21

Advocate General Juliane Kokott has published her opinion calling on the EU’s top court to invalidate provisions in the Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive requiring pharmaceutical and cosmetics companies to fund at least 80% of the cost of removing micropollutants from urban wastewater.

“Today’s opinion strengthens the case for stopping the clock on this Directive to avoid consequences for the availability of medicines for patients,” said Director General of Medicines for Europe, Adrian van den Hoven. “The Commission should use this opportunity to properly review the EPR scheme before companies are forced to make decisions that could affect medicine supply or health security.”

The opinion, issued in response to a Polish challenge to the Directive, is not binding on the Court of Justice of the European Union, but it appears to support criticisms that industry has long made about the evidence and proportionality underpinning the extended producer responsibility (EPR) scheme.

Generic and biosimilar companies say those concerns are already affecting investment decisions. Manufacturers must plan production years ahead.

MEPs push for EU solidarity fund to improve access to cross-border healthcare

3 September 2026 at 17:15

MEPs are pushing for an EU solidarity mechanism to help patients pay for treatment abroad, arguing that financial barriers are preventing Europeans from exercising rights they have had on paper for more than a decade.

The calls came as Parliament discussed a report commissioned to inform its own-initiative report on modernising patients’ rights in cross-border healthcare. The study found that cross-border care accounts for just 0.004% of EU public health expenditure, despite patients continuing to face upfront costs, complex reimbursement procedures and prior-authorisation requirements.

Tomislav Sokol (EPP, Croatia) called the proposed solidarity mechanism a potential “game changer” for vulnerable patients, but challenged Parliament to spell out how it would work.

“How would it work in practice? How would it be financed? Would this be part of the EU budget?” Sokol asked. “We need to know it now, so that we can also use this in negotiations on the future EU budget, in the next MFF.”

The Last Event in the Life of Jesus that Caused His Execution – The Coming Noahide Laws

Left image: The Raising of Lazarus, 1857, Léon Joseph Florentin Bonnat. Right image: Annas and Caiaphas by James Tissot, between 1886 and 1894. Bible verse is from John 11:53.

by Brian Shilhavy

I previously wrote about how a man born blind who was healed by Jesus and received his sight, resulted in the formerly blind man being kicked out of the church.

Not only was he kicked out of the church, but everyone else who believed that he received his sight through Jesus was also threatened with being kicked out of the church, because this healing was not approved by the religious and health authorities, and it was done on the “Sabbath” which was illegal. See:

When Believing in Jesus Christ Gets You Kicked Out of the Church

This forced Jesus and his disciples to leave the area and hide, as the Jews looked for ways to arrest Jesus.

However, Jesus returned to the area later, in an event that sealed his fate among the Satanic Jews, where he actually brought a man back to life after he had been dead for four days.

After learning that his friend Lazarus was sick, Jesus purposely stayed behind to allow him to die, and then only decided to go see his sisters after he knew that Lazarus was already laid into a tomb. So this was clearly a pre-planned event by Jesus, knowing full well what the consequences would be.

His disciples were not too eager to follow him back to Judea:

Yet when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed where he was two more days.

Then he said to his disciples,

“Let us go back to Judea.”

“But Rabbi,” they said, “a short while ago the Jews tried to stone you, and yet you are going back there?”

(John 11:6-8)

Jesus assured them that this was all part of God’s plan, but they were still hesitant, and literally thought they were all going to be killed by the Jews by following Jesus back to Judea.

Then Thomas (called Didymus) said to the rest of the disciples,

“Let us also go, that we may die with him.”

(John 11:16)

The Event that Rocked the Jewish Nation and Sealed the Fate of Jesus Christ to be Executed

In 1896, artist Henry Ossawa Tanner brought Lazarus to the forefront of popular culture in Paris, entering Resurrection of Lazarus in the Paris Salon, winning a medal. It was so respected that the French government bought the painting. Source.

With the Satanic Jews already very upset and very nervous about the fact that Jesus had healed a man born blind, Jesus now takes his ministry a step even further, by daring to raise a dead man from his grave, demonstrating his power over not only the ruling Jews, but over Satan himself.

John starts the story with Jesus meeting the two sisters outside of town (he did not dare to enter the town yet, because many Jews were there and it would have been too dangerous).

On his arrival, Jesus found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb for four days.

Bethany was less than two miles from Jerusalem, and many Jews had come to Martha and Mary to comfort them in the loss of their brother.

When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went out to meet him, but Mary stayed at home.

“Lord,” Martha said to Jesus, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.”

Jesus said to her,

“Your brother will rise again.”

Martha answered,

“I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”

Jesus said to her,

“I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

“Yes, Lord,” she told him, “I believe that you are the Christ (Messiah), the Son of God, who was to come into the world.”

And after she had said this, she went back and called her sister Mary aside.

“The Teacher is here,” she said, “and is asking for you.”

When Mary heard this, she got up quickly and went to him.

Now Jesus had not yet entered the village, but was still at the place where Martha had met him. (John 11:17-30)

With the two sisters of Lazarus now coming outside the town to meet him, Jesus had the crowd on his side, and proceeded to do what he had traveled there to do.

When the Jews who had been with Mary in the house, comforting her, noticed how quickly she got up and went out, they followed her, supposing she was going to the tomb to mourn there.

When Mary reached the place where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet and said,

“Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.”

When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled.

“Where have you laid him?” he asked.

“Come and see, Lord,” they replied.

Jesus wept.

Then the Jews said,

“See how he loved him!”

But some of them said,

“Could not he who opened the eyes of the blind man have kept this man from dying?”

Jesus, once more deeply moved, came to the tomb. It was a cave with a stone laid across the entrance.

“Take away the stone,” he said.

“But, Lord,” said Martha, the sister of the dead man, “by this time there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days.”

Then Jesus said,

“Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?”

So they took away the stone.

Then Jesus looked up and said,

“Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.”

When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice,

“Lazarus, come out!”

The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face.

Jesus said to them,

“Take off the grave clothes and let him go.”

(John 11:31-44)

To the people who knew and loved the family of Lazarus, this was the most amazing miracle that had ever been done in the history of the world, and the news spread fast!

To the ruling Satanic Jews, this was the worst sin that Jesus had committed to date, because it completely destroyed their power base in Satan’s world order.

So they immediately began to make plans to execute him, thinking that his execution would eliminate their problems.

Therefore many of the Jews who had come to visit Mary, and had seen what Jesus did, put their faith in him.

But some of them went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done.

Then the chief priests and the Pharisees called a meeting of the Sanhedrin.

“What are we accomplishing?” they asked.

“Here is this man performing many miraculous signs. If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and then the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.”

Then one of them, named Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, spoke up,

“You know nothing at all! You do not realize that it is better for you that one man die for the people than that the whole nation perish.”

He did not say this on his own, but as high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the Jewish nation, and not only for that nation but also for the scattered children of God, to bring them together and make them one.

So from that day on they plotted to take his life.

Therefore Jesus no longer moved about publicly among the Jews. Instead he withdrew to a region near the desert, to a village called Ephraim, where he stayed with his disciples.

(John 11:45-54)

The Noahide Laws – The Satanic Jews’ Attempt to Carry On What Their Jewish Forefathers Started

Jesus is still a threat to Satan’s world order today, and the Satanic Jews have continued to try and stop people from believing in and following Jesus since the First Century.

They failed miserably in the First Century, because even though they were afraid that the Romans would come and take over their city if they allowed Jesus to live, after they executed Jesus, Jesus just rose from the dead and continued his ministry in his resurrected state, and then the Romans came anyway in 70 AD and destroyed their temple and their city, ending the Jewish nation.

But in 1948, after World War II, the Zionist allies began their reign of terror on the Palestinians living in the area that was formerly Israel, and setup their own Jewish nation that today is still practicing genocide against the Palestinian people, while also attacking Lebanon and Iran, all with U.S. weapons in the current Trump Zionist regime.

There is no doubt that this was the main reason that Trump was put back in power in 2025, and then began the Iran War.

The Satanic Jews use the Noahide Laws to try and solidify their power worldwide, promoting the Jews as the “chosen people” at the expense of everyone else, and making it a sin, punishable by death, to believe that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah.

I published an article in 2024 explaining that the Zionists in the House of Representatives under Trump have been trying to implement the Noahide Laws in the U.S. disguised as “Antisemitism” bills. See:

Exposing the Antisemitism Noahide Laws that Criminalize Belief in Jesus Christ as the Jewish Messiah Punishable by Execution

And now, in November of this year (2026), the “most committed Noahide leaders from around the globe will gather in Jerusalem — to formally establish the World Noahide Movement.”

They have put up an official website that describes, for the first time in public to my knowledge, just what the Noahide Laws are.

From their website:

Why This? Why Now?

For two thousand years, the words of Israel’s prophets waited. We waited.

The people of Israel returned home. The State of Israel was built. And now, quietly, tens of thousands of non-Jews on multiple continents are choosing to live by the universal moral laws given at Sinai to all humanity. They are called Noahides . They are awakening. They are organizing. And for the first time in history, they have an address: Jerusalem .

This November, the most committed Noahide leaders from around the globe will gather in Jerusalem — to formally establish the World Noahide Movement.

The question is not whether this will happen. It’s happening. The question is who will be there when it does.

You Will See With Your Own Eyes That You Are Not Alone.

For most Noahides, the journey is often lonely. You study. You speak to the Creator. You attend online classes.

This congress will change all this.

For four days, you will live alongside fellow Noahides from six continents. So far we have registrants from: Bolivia, France, Germany, the United States, India, Israel, Georgia, Canada, the Netherlands, Mexico, Chile, the United Kingdom, Senegal, Switzerland, New Zealand, South Africa, and Lithuania.

You arrive feeling isolated. You leave knowing you are part of an international family.

Source.

Will the Noahide Laws be Implemented in the U.S.?

I personally highly doubt that the Noahide Laws will ever be implemented in the U.S.

The Zionists chose Donald Trump to try and implement this, and that was their biggest mistake, in my opinion.

Because now the whole world knows that Trump worked together with Jeffrey Epstein and is also a pedophile just like everyone else in Epstein’s network.

And the most damaging parts of the “Epstein Files” have still not been released, and are allegedly being used to leverage Trump.

But this does not mean that the Zionist religious fanatics, most of whom are Evangelical Christians, are no longer a danger to the U.S. and the rest of the world.

Israel still has the “Samson Option” where they could try to destroy the Middle East through nuclear warfare, especially since they have been unable to defeat Iran. See:

Is Israel Preparing Nuclear Bombs for Iran According to “The Samson Option”?

There are also rumors that false flag attacks could happen in the U.S. with events even more devastating than 9/11, where Trump could theoretically try to stop the midterm elections, and implement something like martial law which could potentially include the Noahide Laws. See:

Is World War III About to Break Out? Talk of Los Angeles False Flag Attack Increases

Whatever does happen, there is one thing I am quite sure about: Satan will fail, just as he has historically when trying to stop people from believing in and following the true Jewish Messiah, Jesus Christ.

However, if Satan’s worldly throne currently is in the United States, the revived Roman Empire, Americans could suffer the most when God deals his next blow against the Satanic world system.

This is not consistent with the false, Dispensationalist Evangelical views of end time prophecies, and they will be the most surprised that things did not go their way after all, as they suffer the consequences of God’s judgment against this nation instead of being “raptured” out of the world to be spared the devastation that is coming.

Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.

By their fruit you will recognize them.

Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?

Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.

Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’

Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ (Matthew 7:15-23)

Rachel Entrekin Is Ready to Take What’s Hers

31 August 2026 at 12:00

Running with Rachel Entrekin must be pretty wild—she encourages competitors and stops mid-race to pet dogs. But her personality is even bigger off the course. Tough and empathetic, her running success has come after 13 years of hard work and a battle to transform an addictive, perfectionist past into a healthier relationship with food, rest, and herself. And even as success came and ultramarathons were won, she watched opportunities go to her male competitors. Gloria Liu honors the incredible achievement of “smashing records while battling impostor syndrome and the fragility of your own self-worth in a world enamored with men, and their accomplishments.”

The key word, however, is average. As any female runner who’s ever passed a dude working himself into a froth to stay ahead of her on the trail knows, women beat men on an individual basis daily. And as athletes like Entrekin and Dauwalter have shown, they do so, occasionally and spectacularly, even at the elite level. We have an understandable reflex to point to categorical advantages that might explain why women can do this, Malcolm says: “It’s inherently feel good, the David and Goliath aspect of a woman winning outright.”

But in searching for the advantages we hope all women have, we may be missing a simpler truth: Most men are faster than most women, but some women still beat most men. The point is not that we have any advantage. The point is that they have almost every advantage—and we still win.

US authorization of ZYN challenges the future of EU nicotine policy

31 August 2026 at 08:53

The US Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) decision to allow 20 ZYN nicotine pouch products to carry a specific reduced-risk claim has created a striking contrast with the direction of European Union policy, as Brussels prepares new product rules and proposes EU-wide taxation of nicotine pouches.

The United States Food and Drug Administration has authorised 20 ZYN nicotine pouch products to be marketed with a statement informing adult smokers that completely replacing cigarettes with the pouches can reduce the risk of several serious diseases.

The decision, issued on 30 June 2026, represents the first time that the FDA has granted Modified Risk Tobacco Product orders to nicotine pouches.

The authorised wording states:

“Using ZYN instead of cigarettes puts you at a lower risk of mouth cancer, heart disease, lung cancer, stroke, emphysema, and chronic bronchitis.”

The orders cover ten varieties of ZYN, each sold in nicotine strengths of 3mg and 6mg. The products include Chill, Cinnamon, Citrus, Coffee, Cool Mint, Menthol, Peppermint, Smooth, Spearmint and Wintergreen.

The manufacturer, Swedish Match USA, is owned by Philip Morris International. The products had already received FDA authorisation to remain on the US market in January 2025, but the new decision goes considerably further by permitting a specific comparative health claim.

The FDA said its decision followed an extensive scientific review and was intended to give adult tobacco users accurate information about differences in risk between products.

“FDA’s review of modified risk products is intended to ensure that adult users have clear, science-based information about the relative harms of tobacco products, so they can make informed choices,” said Bret Koplow, acting director of the FDA’s Centre for Tobacco Products.

The ruling does not mean that ZYN is harmless, nor does it approve the products as medicines or smoking-cessation treatments. Nicotine is addictive, and the FDA continues to advise people who do not currently use tobacco or nicotine not to begin.

The significance of the decision lies instead in the regulator’s formal recognition that nicotine products can present very different levels of risk.

Switching, rather than dual use

A crucial qualification is contained in the phrase “instead of cigarettes”. The authorised claim applies to smokers who replace cigarettes with ZYN. It does not promise the same reduction in risk to consumers who use nicotine pouches while continuing to smoke.

Cigarettes burn tobacco, creating smoke containing toxic substances responsible for most smoking-related cancers, cardiovascular disease and respiratory illness. Nicotine pouches deliver nicotine through the lining of the mouth without burning tobacco or producing smoke.

This difference is central to the principle of tobacco harm reduction: smokers who cannot or do not wish to stop using nicotine may nevertheless reduce their health risks by moving away from combustible products.

The FDA’s decision therefore recognises an important distinction that is frequently blurred in political debate. A product can be addictive and unsuitable for non-users while still being substantially less dangerous than smoking.

UK-based public health commentator Clive Bates, a former director of Action on Smoking and Health, has argued that nicotine pouches could deliver benefits comparable to those associated with the use of Swedish snus in Scandinavia.

“Tobacco-free nicotine pouches with a consumer acceptable nicotine content have the potential to benefit public health in the same way that is documented for Swedish snus in Scandinavia, that is, by serving as a low-risk alternative to cigarettes”, Bates said.

“The European Commission should pay close attention to FDA’s exhaustive process and extensive reasoning. It’s unusual to have anything good to say about the Federal government these days, but this is an important exception, where the right answer has been reached for the right reasons”, he added.

Bates has also argued that poorly designed regulation, including excessively low nicotine limits, could make pouches less effective as substitutes for cigarettes and unintentionally protect the market for combustible tobacco.

Why the FDA decision matters for Europe

The American ruling comes at a particularly important moment for the European Union.

The European Commission is simultaneously advancing a formal proposal to overhaul tobacco taxation (TED) and preparing a broader revision of the EU legislation governing tobacco and nicotine products, their presentation, sale, advertising and promotion.

Nicotine pouches are not comprehensively regulated at EU level under the current Tobacco Products Directive (TPD). Because they contain nicotine but no tobacco, they fall outside many of the harmonised provisions that apply to cigarettes, roll-your-own tobacco, heated tobacco and electronic cigarettes. The result is a fragmented European market.

Some member states permit nicotine pouches subject to national restrictions. Others have introduced nicotine limits, packaging and warning requirements or advertising controls, while France has pursued a prohibition.

Different national rules create uncertainty for consumers and manufacturers and complicate enforcement across the EU’s internal market.

The Commission’s April 2026 evaluation of the European tobacco-control framework identified the rapid growth of nicotine pouches, electronic cigarettes and heated tobacco products as one of the main challenges that existing EU legislation is no longer adequately equipped to address.

The evaluation concluded that EU rules had contributed to falling smoking rates and smoking-related deaths but were failing to keep pace with changes in products, marketing practices and consumer behaviour.

The EC is particularly concerned about the use of novel nicotine products among children, adolescents and young adults. However, the FDA decision introduces an additional issue that EU policymakers will now find difficult to avoid: whether new EU rules should recognise differences in risk between combustible cigarettes and smoke-free nicotine products.

Two contrasting regulatory philosophies

The emerging difference between Washington and Brussels is not simply that one jurisdiction is permissive and the other restrictive.

The FDA subjects nicotine products to an exceptionally demanding premarket review. Products must receive authorisation before they can legally be marketed, and separate evidence is required before a manufacturer may make a modified-risk claim.

The FDA can impose marketing conditions, require post-market surveillance and withdraw an order if later evidence shows that the product no longer benefits public health.

Its approach nevertheless accepts that consumers should be told when credible evidence shows that completely switching from one product to another reduces disease risk.

The Commission’s current approach places greater emphasis on reducing the overall attractiveness and consumption of tobacco-related and nicotine products. Its taxation proposal explicitly presents nicotine pouches as products that can prolong addiction or act as substitutes for cigarettes, especially among young people.

These positions are not necessarily irreconcilable.

The EU could impose age controls, marketing restrictions, ingredient standards and proportionate nicotine limits while still recognising that adult smokers may benefit from switching completely away from cigarettes.

It could also prohibit unsubstantiated commercial claims while creating an evidence-based process through which manufacturers could apply for permission to communicate verified differences in risk.

The alternative would be to impose increasingly similar taxation, warnings and advertising rules on products with significantly different health consequences.

A test for evidence-based policymaking

The EC ran a public consultation on revisions to both the Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) and the Tobacco Advertising Directive (TAD) from 22 May to 14 August this year. The consultation, is intended to inform a revision of the legislative framework planned before the end of 2026.

It creates an opportunity to consider evidence that was not available when the current Tobacco Products Directive was adopted in 2014.

Nicotine pouches were then a marginal product. They now represent a rapidly expanding category, and national governments are adopting increasingly divergent responses.

The FDA decision does not compel Europe to follow the US model. The EU has different legal structures, public-health priorities and attitudes towards commercial nicotine.

It does, however, establish a significant regulatory precedent.

One of the world’s most influential public-health authorities has concluded that there is sufficient evidence to tell adult smokers that completely switching to specified nicotine pouches reduces their risk of mouth cancer, heart disease, lung cancer, stroke, emphysema and chronic bronchitis.

That finding sits uneasily with any policy or public communication suggesting that cigarettes and smoke-free nicotine products are essentially equivalent.

The issue is particularly relevant to the Commission’s tax proposal. Taxation affects consumer behaviour partly by changing the relative prices of products. If pouches are taxed so heavily that the economic advantage over cigarettes is substantially reduced, smokers may have less incentive to switch.

Conversely, setting taxes too low could increase affordability and use among young people who have never smoked.

The task for EU legislators is therefore not simply to choose between regulation and deregulation. It is to develop a framework that calibrates restrictions, taxation and consumer information according to evidence about risk, behaviour and population-level effects.

Europe’s choice

While Washington is recognising that adults deserve accurate information about lower-risk alternatives, Brussels is looking for ways to restrict, tax or ban them.

Meanwhile, the EU is failing to control illegal disposable vapes, banned flavours, excessive nicotine levels and unauthorised devices moving through black-market channels. Regulated products are demonised, while illegal and unregulated products keep reaching consumers, including young people.

The forthcoming EU debate will test whether Brussels can reconcile its tobacco-free objective with the potential role of lower-risk alternatives.

The FDA decision makes three points that are likely to shape that discussion.

First, nicotine pouches are not harmless and should not be promoted to children or people who do not use nicotine.

Second, the absence of combustion means that their risks can differ substantially from those associated with cigarettes.

Third, the greatest potential benefit arises when smokers switch completely rather than using pouches alongside continued smoking.

The Commission is right to address gaps in the existing legislation and fragmentation between member states. Common product standards, youth protections and enforcement rules may be necessary for the Single Market to function properly.

But regulation that fails to acknowledge relative risk could also have unintended consequences.

Clive Bates and other harm-reduction advocates argue that treating all nicotine products as though they are similarly dangerous can preserve smoking by discouraging consumers from moving to safer alternatives. European health campaigners respond that the growth of commercially marketed nicotine products could create a new generation of dependent users.

The revised Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) will need to address both concerns.

As the EC completes its consultation and develops its legislative proposal, the American decision gives European policymakers a concrete case study rather than a theoretical argument.

The question is no longer whether a regulator could authorise a carefully limited reduced-risk claim for a nicotine pouch. The FDA has now done so.

The question for Europe is whether its forthcoming legislation will allow comparable scientific evidence to influence regulation, taxation and communication — or whether nicotine pouches will be treated principally as another product to be restricted, irrespective of their potential role in moving smokers away from cigarettes.
