On her first day at the podium, new White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia made news. She announced that President Trump has asked his son's former fiancée and ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle, to resign amid allegations that she sought $100,000 from a donor. White House correspondent Liz Landers reports.
President Donald Trump told reporters that officials "didn't like what we were reading" about Kimberly Guilfoyle, who resigned as ambassador to Greece on Tuesday.
Trump appointee Kimberly Guilfoyle, the U.S. ambassador to Greece, has been asked to resign from her post after coming under severe criticism over allegations she has engaged in improper and possibly illegal conduct before and during her tenure in Athens, new Trump press secretary Katie Zacharia said Tuesday.
Roughly half of Zacharia's first news briefing as the White House press secretary was a topper in which she read out President Donald Trump's achievements.
