Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Thursday that Ukraine is ending a brief pause on attacks against Russian oil refineries and will resume the strikes, despite warnings from U.S. President Donald Trump.
“The block [on attacking refineries] is out. We’re done,” Zelensky told the Financial Times in an interview published Thursday.
Ukraine had refrained from striking Russian energy facilities for three days after U.S. President Donald Trump announced what he called an “energy ceasefire,” Zelensky said. During that period, Russian forces continued attacking Ukrainian energy infrastructure and civilian areas. Zelensky said more than 100 civilians were killed in Russian strikes over the past week.
Trump had pressed Ukraine to halt the refinery attacks, which he linked to rising diesel and fuel prices. He also moved to ease restrictions on Russian diesel imports. Moscow never confirmed it had agreed to any reciprocal pause on energy strikes.
Ukraine has for months used long-range drones to target Russian refineries in an effort to reduce revenue and fuel supplies supporting Moscow’s war effort. Western and Ukrainian assessments have reported significant damage to Russia’s refining capacity.
Zelensky also told the Financial Times that Ukrainian forces received no U.S. early-warning alerts for incoming ballistic missiles during the pause. He said Starlink satellite communications were restricted or slowed, affecting military operations. He rejected claims that the Starlink issues were technical, saying it was “a matter of will.” Ukrainian officials were warned that continued energy strikes could lead to a cutoff of U.S. intelligence sharing, he said.
Zelensky indicated Ukraine could consider further restraint only if the United States supplies additional Patriot interceptor missiles, which he described as the minimum requirement.
On Thursday, Russian authorities reported a large Ukrainian drone attack on the Ryazan region that caused a fire at a Rosneft-owned oil refinery. The plant accounts for roughly 5 percent of Russia’s refining capacity. Ryazan Gov. Pavel Malkov said emergency crews were assessing damage. No civilian casualties were reported. Russian officials said air defenses intercepted numerous drones.
The developments underscore continued friction between Kyiv and Washington over energy attacks, with reports already claiming that Trump was considering cutting off intelligence to Ukraine entirely.
Nearly half of Muslim and Jewish respondents in a major French poll say they would consider leaving the country if Marine Le Pen wins the 2027 presidential election, according to an exclusive Ifop survey for the magazine Marianne.
The poll found that 46 percent of respondents identifying as Muslim would contemplate “leaving France to settle in another country” under a Le Pen presidency. Of those, 20 percent said they would “certainly” take that step. By comparison, 21 percent of the overall population expressed a similar willingness to leave.
The figure is part of a broader set of findings on identity, secularism, and anticipated reactions to a National Rally (RN) victory. Eighty-one percent of Muslim respondents believed a Le Pen win would lead to a rise in discrimination against their community. Twenty-seven percent said they would consider concealing their religious identity in daily life, including 18 percent who would stop wearing the veil in public.
Similar sentiments appeared in other groups polled.
Forty percent of the youngest cohort of French voters, 43 percent of France Unbowed (LFI) voters, and 44 percent of Jewish respondents said they would consider leaving. The survey also recorded elevated support for civil disobedience in some cohorts. For instance, substantial shares indicated they would refuse to respect laws they viewed as unjust.
Notably, while Le Pen has been antagonistic towards Islam in France, she has often cast herself as a protector of Jewish life in the country.
In 2024, she said, “The best shield for French people of the Jewish faith is the National Rally. It is the only movement that has the will, the conviction and the means to fight Islamist fundamentalism, which is the major danger facing them.”
Yet, nearly as many Jews said they would leave the country as Muslims.
François Kraus, director of the Politics and Current Affairs division at Ifop, described the results: “The arrival in power of the candidate favored by the polls risks creating significant obstacles and generates high levels of fear and a sense of insecurity.”
The National Rally has long advocated tighter controls on immigration, greater priority for French nationals in housing and employment, and restrictions on Islamic veiling in public spaces. Le Pen has indicated she would not impose an immediate ban on the veil upon taking office but would put broader restrictions to a national referendum.
Previous Ifop work has documented rising religiosity and support for more rigorous interpretations of Islam among younger French Muslims, including significant shares prioritizing Islamic norms over French civil law on issues such as inheritance or ritual slaughter in certain scenarios. Remix News reported on this poll last year.
Figures on the right treated these results as evidence of failed integration and the dangers of demographic change.
Currently, Le Pen has frequently led first-round voting intention polls, making her the favorite to win the presidential election.
It is important to note that many groups claim they will leave a country if their preferred candidate does not win an election, but actually leaving is an entirely different story. The 46 percent figure for Muslims and 44 percent for Jews is only an expressed willingness or contemplation in a hypothetical scenario, not concrete plans to leave France.
The reality is that family ties, employment, and economic realities mean that leaving is far harder in practice.
An African man, who was described as “perfectly integrated,” is on trial in Bonn on charges connected to the strangling murder of his wife, whom he then dismembered. The woman’s remains were later found in several locations across Germany, according to court proceedings.
Asmerom G., 42, an Eritrean national, faces the charges in Bonn Regional Court in North Rhine-Westphalia. The case stems from events in mid-November 2025 involving his wife, Weghata A., 32. The couple had married in Ethiopia in 2019, and she arrived in Germany in 2024 through family reunification.
The defendant allegedly met his wife, 32-year-old Weghata A., inside his car, where they began arguing on their way back from a church visit. According to Bonner Generalanzeiger newspaper, Asmerom G. later told police that his wife told him their 3-month-old girl was not his biological child. He reportedly could not remember what happened next.
According to prosecutors, Asmerom G. then strangled his wife in the back seat of the car in a parking lot in Bonn, directly in front of the baby who was sitting in a child seat.
After the crime, the defendant is said to have driven with the body and the baby in the car to the Monastery of Saint Anthony, 160 kilometers away, where he abandoned the little girl in the stroller when it was only 2 degrees Celsius (35 degrees Fahrenheit).
Fortunately for the girl, monks found the child just 40 minutes after she was dropped off.
Asmerom G. then went to work dismembering Weghata’s body, including packing her hands and head in plastic bags.
He left the torso behind, which was found at the end of November 2025. Asmerom G. left the body parts on the side of the autobahn, on the A45. The head of the woman was discovered by garbage collectors in April 2026.
Asmerom G. was arrested in Ethiopia and extradited to Germany. He has a prior conviction for aggravated assault. On the first day of the trial, he declined to comment on the allegations. Defense attorney Martin Kretschmer has said the case rests largely on DNA evidence and mobile-phone data.
Kretschmer told Bild newspaper, “Until his arrest, he was considered perfectly integrated.”
German media was even singing his praises in 2016. The man from Eritrea had landed a job as an electrical assistant at a firm in Rheinbach, in North Rhine-Westphalia, and gave interviews about leaving his homeland three years earlier to escape political persecution.
He wanted German citizenship, he said. His boss at the time was quick to describe Asmerom G. as talented, reliable, and “capable of anything,” according to Bild newspaper.
However, then trouble began. Within a year, Asmerom G. was in trouble with the law. A brawl led to a conviction for grievous bodily harm at Siegburg District Court, earning him a six-month suspended sentence.
He moved on from Rheinbach and took up work behind the wheel of a freight truck. Somewhere along the way, he made a trip back to his home country — for reasons that remain unclear — and returned to Germany with a woman named Weghata A., who was 31 at the time, his wife under Eritrean law. On July 26, 2025, she delivered their daughter.
The child is now in the care of authorities. Lawyer Gesine Ickert, representing the daughter and the deceased’s father, has stated that the child is well looked after under the circumstances.
Dutch Housing Minister Elanor Boekholt-O’Sullivan drew sharp criticism this week after defending priority access to scarce social housing for recognized refugees, arguing that many young Dutch first-time home seekers “can still live with their parents.”
In an interview with De Telegraaf, the D66 minister was asked why status holders — asylum seekers granted residence permits — should receive preference for social rental homes while Dutch “starters” face long waiting lists and delayed independence. She responded that “we see that a lot of starters can still, or are allowed to, live with their parents.”
Migrants get affordable housing before Dutch natives.
When asked why migrants receive access to affordable housing before young Dutch people looking for a "starter" home, the Dutch housing minister said that many Dutch first-time home seekers "can still live with their parents."
Mass migration contributed to 60% of the increase in housing demand in the Netherlands since 2015, yet Minister Elanor Boekholt-O’Sullivan still believes in putting migrants first.
"For me, the fundamental principle is that anyone who is allowed to and wants to live in the Netherlands gets a roof over their head," she said.
In the Netherlands, Dutch natives are increasingly relegated to living with their parents while migrants get to skip massive waiting lists and gain "emergency" access to cheap social housing.

Dutch commentator and activist Eva Vlaardingerbroek wrote on X that the policy amounted to “systemic racism.”
“And not just the ‘new’ newcomers. A 25-year-old Syrian who came here with his parents years ago jumps the queue for a home when he decides he wants to live on his own. Meaning a 25-year-old white Dutch guy can forget about getting his own place and ends up on waiting lists for 10+ years,” she wrote, adding: “Putting the interests of foreigners above the interests of the native population needs to end.”
Talking about systemic racism: Young Dutch people can barely find a place to live, because migration drove 60% of the housing demand since 2015, regular prices are insane, and migrants get PRIORITY for the affordable social housing.
And not just the “new” newcomers. A 25-year-old Syrian who came here with his parents years ago jumps the queue for a home when he decides he wants to live on his own. Meaning a 25 year-old white Dutch guy can forget about getting his own place and ends up on waiting lists for 10+ years.
But according to our minister of housing that’s fine because they can just continue to “live with their parents.”
Putting the interests of foreigners above the interests of the native population, needs to end.
That’s why with the @SaveEuropeAct, apart from demanding closed borders and Remigration, we also demand Removing social welfare incentives and benefits that function as pull factors for migration.
Boekholt-O’Sullivan, an Irish-born former lieutenant general in the Dutch Air Force who took office earlier this year, claims that anyone who wants to live in the Netherlands should get a roof but does not address the major housing crisis brought on by mass immigration.
“For me, the fundamental principle is that anyone who is allowed to and wants to live in the Netherlands gets a roof over their head,” she said. She noted that status holders typically leave asylum reception centers and argued that alternatives such as remaining in centers, homelessness, hotels or cruise ships were unacceptable, so priority allocation should continue until other solutions exist.
The remarks landed amid fresh data underscoring migration’s outsized role in the Netherlands’ housing crunch. A report released this week by the Economic Institute for Construction (EIB) found that migration accounted for about 60 percent of additional housing demand between 2015 and 2024. Migrants who arrived in that period occupied roughly 435,000 homes by 2024, out of nearly 700,000 homes added to the stock.
The 44 percent figure of social housing units occupied by first or second-generation immigrants has doubled from 22 percent in 2000, and is forecast to rise to 51 percent by 2030.
A total of 92 percent of Syrian first-generation immigrants reside in social housing. In addition, 90 percent of those born in Somalia, Afghanistan, and Eritrea reside in social housing.
Asylum-related migration contributes disproportionately to lasting demand because status holders remain permanently at high rates, unlike many labor or student migrants who leave within a decade.
Critics said the minister’s comments minimized the burdens on young Dutch adults who have already spent years on waiting lists for social housing or who face high private rents and purchase prices that lock them out of independent living.
Social housing waiting lists in major cities often stretch many years; priority rules for status holders allow some recent arrivals to bypass ordinary queues. Dutch population growth in recent years has been driven almost entirely by net migration, amplifying pressure on an already constrained housing market marked by strict planning rules, nitrogen regulations and slow construction.
Poland’s foreign minister publicly challenged Elon Musk on Wednesday after Ukrainian forces reported sudden restrictions on Starlink services that disrupted combat drone operations, asking whether the billionaire was again “playing politics” with his company. Additionally, there are now repots that President Donald Trump is considering severely limiting or cutting off intelligence to Ukraine entirely.
Sikorski posted on X while quoting a Kyiv Independent report on the restrictions: “Hey, Elon Musk, big man, are you playing politics with your products again? As your European customers, we are watching you.”
Hey, @elonmusk, big man, are you playing politics with your products again?
As your European customers, we are watching you.
The message came hours after Ukrainian officials said SpaceX had limited its military-grade Starshield package. Terminals lost connectivity when traveling faster than roughly 100 mph (160 km/h), with no advance notice. Presidential adviser Serhiy Beskrestnov said the change caused several missions to fail. A source with the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps confirmed impacts on drone control and logistics as well.
Starlink supports longer-range drone strikes on Russian supply lines. Poland funds more than 29,000 terminals at roughly $50 million a year.
Separately, Semafor reported Wednesday that the idea of cutting or limiting intelligence sharing with Ukraine is under active discussion inside the White House. President Trump publicly downplayed any cutoff, telling reporters the previous day that the U.S. is still sharing intelligence and “we help them,” while stressing his goal of ending the war.
An administration official told Semafor, however, that “Trump is pretty pissed off. He could order it.”
The official suggested any restriction would focus on intelligence for targets inside Russia. CIA Director John Ratcliffe is said to oppose the idea.
There have been repeated Trump administration warnings that continued Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries could lead to suspension of intelligence sharing and European purchases of U.S. weapons via the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL). The pressure is linked to Trump’s efforts to lower diesel prices, including a deal with Russia on fuel supplies and calls for an “energy ceasefire.” Zelensky has noted the absence of advance warnings on some recent Russian missile strikes. Trump briefly suspended intelligence sharing last year after a tense meeting with Zelensky.
On top of tension between Trump and Zelensky, Sikorski also looms large in relation to Musk.
Sikorski’s “big man” phrasing is a pat of a long-running feud. In March 2025, Musk said Ukraine’s “entire front line would collapse if I turned it (Starlink) off.” Sikorski noted Poland paid the bills and would seek alternatives if the service proved unreliable; Musk replied, “Be quiet, small man.” U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio urged gratitude. Musk later said Starlink would never be turned off or used as a bargaining chip.
Cologne police are investigating an unprecedented incident in which a humanoid robot was allegedly used to sexually harass a 16-year-old girl on a busy city street, with the act filmed and livestreamed. Videos of the assault appear to show two men with a migration background controlling the robot, which they named “Ahmed,” an Arabic name. They also claim the robot is from the multicultural neighborhood of Neukölln in Berlin.
The case, which has drawn international attention as potentially the first documented instance of a robot being used directly in a sexual assault, has to do with red-and-gold Unitree robot that approached different teenage women. In the videos, which Remix News has compiled into one longer clip, the robot grabs their behinds, makes masturbatory motions, and humps the women.
At least one victim, a 16-year-old girl, has filed a criminal complaint.
According to a police statement, the roughly 1.2-meter-tall robot touched the girl on the buttocks and made thrusting motions against her between 11:45 p.m. and midnight on the night of October 10–11, 2026, near the corner of Palmstrasse and Hohenzollernring.
The girl was with two friends, ages 17 and 18. Officers responding to the scene located a 16-year-old from Wegberg and a 19-year-old companion nearby. The robot was found in the trunk of a Volkswagen where the younger suspect had stowed it; police seized the machine and the pair’s mobile phones. Investigators are examining whether the movements were deliberately controlled via remote control or an app and are treating the matter as a suspected case of sexual harassment.
JUST IN: Asylum seekers and men with a migration background are the main group that should be banned from German swimming pools, according to national police union leader @M_Ostermann.
"But in the end, we are always just describing symptoms instead of tackling the root causes. And that is why it is completely clear that those outdoor pools are acting responsibly by simply not letting these groups of people – men, mostly with a migration background, often from the main asylum countries of origin – into the outdoor pools anymore."
That is the advice comes after yet another wave of sexual assaults and violence in German pools from migrants.
He further writes: "Enough is enough. They are men, and almost always from the main countries of origin for asylum seekers. Year after year, the same headlines, the same incidents, and the same excuses."
"Public swimming pools used to be places of carefree enjoyment for children and families. Today, many people avoid them out of fear of violence, harassment, and disrespect."
"Enough with the political whitewashing. Those who do not clearly name problems will never solve them. The rule of law must finally make this clear with all due consequence."
"Anyone who threatens others, harasses women, or commits violence has forfeited their right as a guest and any claim to understanding. Zero tolerance means zero tolerance – swift proceedings, harsh penalties, and, where legally possible, consistent immigration consequences."
"The people living in Germany have a right to safety. They have a right to public spaces being what they once were again: places for families and children – not for intimidation, violence, and disrespect."

The 16-year-old and his companion are accused of filming the encounter, streaming it live on social media, and providing commentary.
Many of the victims appear to be German women. Some of them laugh or appear to be amused, but others appear uncomfortable or scream.
Media reports speculate the model is the Unitree R1-series model, priced around €5,000, which can walk, respond to voice commands, and be remotely operated or programmed with custom movement sequences. Experts have noted that the specific thrusting motions are not standard factory behaviors.
As Remix News has reported, many public areas have become insecure, featuring robberies, rapes, assaults, and other threats. However, for women, the threat level has gone up substantially, including from random street harassment due to mass immigration.
"I hate Berlin. Berlin is sh*t."
A thief stole this young German woman’s phone and then told her, "in a mixture of English and German, that he would only give it to me if I had sex with him."
This woman was assaulted in Berlin’s famed Görlitzer Park, where migrants gang raped a woman in 2023.

A female University of Mons student was allegedly sequestered and raped in the back room of a convenience store by three men of Pakistani origin in the Belgian city of Mons. The suspects are now on trial as of Oct. 12, 2026, for aggravated rape and unlawful confinement.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Dec. 12, 2025, at a night shop on Rue de la Clef in Mons. The student, identified in reports as Laura, a pseudonym, entered the store around 1:30 a.m. after an evening out, first to buy cookies and later around 1:42 a.m., for a drink. A shop employee invited her to have a drink in the back room. She agreed while using a translation app to communicate with him and then followed him. While she was in the back of the shop, the other employees closed the shop at 2:29 a.m. with her still inside.
While she was with the men, the owner asked an employee to serve her whisky and Cola.
Concerned about the drinking the beverage, she texted her roommate: “I’m at the convenience store. If I don’t come back, call the police.”
After consuming the drink, her vision then blurred and she lost consciousness, according to Belgian news outlet L’Avenir.
She regained awareness around 6:34 a.m., alone in the back room, disoriented, with her clothes disheveled and without underwear. She then got up and left.
Garbage collectors later described seeing a terrified young woman looking over her shoulder. She reported sexual violence to her roommate and medical exams found male DNA in her vagina.
Police intervened at the shop, finding two men present and a third hidden in a cupboard. Investigators recovered the student’s underwear, which contained semen matching one of the three suspects.
The three men are all of Pakistani origin, including the shop owner and an employee. The police arrested the suspects.
One also faces a charge related to an alleged attempted rape of another customer in July 2025, which involved an attempt to force a kiss in the back room. All three deny the charges. The owner has claimed the student tried to steal €7,000 from his pockets, a version the prosecution rejects as it does not explain the scientific evidence.
In court a Monday morning, the public prosecutor treated the three as co-authors of the rape.
“None of the three justifies the closing of the shop while this young woman is inside,” the prosecutor stated, requesting sentences of four and five years.
The court also discussed a possible requalification of the facts as failure to assist a person in danger for two of the accused, while the defense lawyers pleaded for acquittal.
The student’s lawyer, Odile Maes, argued the men knew what was happening in the back room and shared responsibility, calling them “sexual predators.”
The victim was present in court and delivered emotional testimony, saying: “I have the feeling of having been thrown away like a broken toy that night. They tore away my dignity, my body, my friends, my family, my studies, and many other things. I demand justice.”
The student has described lasting effects including nightmares, isolation, fear of men, weight gain, and the loss of a student job, though she completed her first year of university with schedule adjustments. A judgment is expected in early November.
In April 2024, Egyptian national Paulus Said Foukaih Abdelshahed murdered his seven-year-old daughter and eight-year-old son in their Södertälje home by placing bags over their heads and pumping helium gas into them through a hose. The children had earlier been taken for Happy Meals and shopping. Their mother discovered the bodies that evening; Abdelshahed, then around 37, had also attempted suicide but failed.
Investigators determined that Abdelshahed had searched for terms before the murders, such as “killed his own children,” “die together” and “the most gentle way to kill someone.” Abdelshahed also confessed to the crimes during a police interrogation.
Södertälje District Court convicted him in December 2024 of premeditated murder with particular ruthlessness, imposing a life sentence and deportation. A psychiatric evaluation found no severe mental disorder that would warrant compulsory care instead of prison.
The report noted that he suffered from depression, but the judgment noted that “his actions did not appear psychotic but instrumental.”
However, Abdelshahed told investigators he suffered from gender dysphoria, had identified as female since childhood, and killed the children because he believed he could not live as a woman and that they would not cope without him.
He had previously presented as “Lily” at work and elsewhere. However, all his appeals were rejected.
To Abdelshahed’s benefit, Sweden’s new Legal Gender Recognition Act took effect on July 1, 2025. It lowered the age limit to 16, with parental consent for minors, and removed the requirement for a formal gender-dysphoria diagnosis; a certificate from a licensed healthcare professional confirming that the applicant’s registered sex does not match their perceived gender identity is sufficient.
In autumn 2025, Skatteverket approved Abdelshahed’s change of legal sex to female and of name to Lily. The Swedish prison service then transferred him from the high-security men’s prison at Tidaholm with a security class 1 designation to the women’s facility in Ystad, which has a lower security class 2 designation. The agency cited the new legal status and the need to house him with women.
Abdelshahed did not undergo any gender-changing surgery and he has retained his male anatomy.
Since the transfer, multiple female inmates and staff have reported ongoing problems. Accounts published by Expressen describe a tall, broad-shouldered individual with a beard walking around in a short nightshirt that exposes the penis. Abdelshahed has also reportedly attempted to enter unlocked shower and laundry areas while women are present and made numerous sexual advances.
“[He doesn’t] wear underwear, like the rest of us do. When I and others have told the staff, we are told that we are LGBTQI-hostile,” said a woman who was imprisoned at Ystad with Abdelshahed.
Another inmate described the situation facing female prisoners as a “horror scenario.” She related that “Lily” has walked into the laundry room and exposed his penis to her.
“The shower room also serves as a laundry room and Lily deliberately goes there when I’m washing, just to show herself naked,” the woman said.
He has also allegedly invited younger or vulnerable inmates to the cell under the pretext of applying makeup, and engaging in other conduct perceived as harassment or exhibitionism.
One woman with documented PTSD from prior sexual assault reportedly suffered a panic attack after an exposure incident and was then disciplined for “transphobic behavior.”
Several police reports of sexual molestation were dropped for lack of evidence, while complaints to the Parliamentary Ombudsman have not been pursued.
Staff members have told unions they fear being labelled anti-LGBTQ or “transphobic” if they raise concerns, and some feel their reports are dismissed by management.
Ystad prison director Anders Jansson has stated that placement follows the legal sex marker and that the facility is adapting, though guidelines for such situations remain unclear.
Prison service leadership has been summoned to parliamentary committees to explain the case.
In Sweden, trans advocacy groups have characterized coverage of the case as a campaign against transgender people.
Police arrested an 18-year-old Syrian man on suspicion of raping a 17-year-old girl in a stairwell in a popular nightlife district, authorities said.
The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. Sunday in a multi-family building on Königsbrücker Strasse in Dresden’s Neustadt neighborhood, near Albertplatz, according to police and media reports. The area is known for bars, pubs and clubs that remain busy into the early morning hours.
The man reportedly dragged her into the stairwell of a building and raped her there. Neither he or the victim lived in the building.
The girl escaped her alleged attacker, fled the building and encountered a police patrol on the street, where she reported the rape, police said. Officers immediately launched a search and arrested the suspect nearby a short time later.
The Syrian man was brought before an investigating judge Monday and ordered held in pretrial detention at Dresden’s justice prison, according to Bild newspaper. Criminal police are investigating the case as rape. Investigators are still determining whether the two knew each other beforehand.
Police have released few additional details about the circumstances of the incident or the girl’s condition. The suspect has not been publicly identified by name. The investigation continues.
A parliamentary inquiry by Alternative for Germany (AfD) lawmakers in the German state of Baden-Württemberg has brought to light official data showing that authorities have recorded 358 so-called child marriages since April 2012, with courts formally annulling only eight of them between 2018 and 2024.
The figures, released in early October 2026 in response to questions from state parliament members Nikolaos Boutakoglou and Emely Knorr, have drawn sharp attention to the prevalence of underage marriages — overwhelmingly involving people from migrant backgrounds — and the limited number of legal interventions.
Among the annulled cases was the 2020 marriage of an 11-year-old Iraqi girl to a 17-year-old Iraqi boy. In 2018, authorities annulled the marriage of a 14-year-old Afghan girl to a 30-year-old Afghan man. Two further annulments occurred in 2024: one involving a 16-year-old German girl and a 25-year-old Pakistani man, and another between a 16-year-old Syrian girl and a 27-year-old Syrian man, according to Welt newspaper.
The other annulled marriages involved individuals from Afghanistan, Romania, Moldova, Croatia, Serbia, and elsewhere. The state Interior Ministry stated that no court proceedings for annulment were pending at the time of its reply.
The remaining approximately 350 cases, documented by the government of Tübingen were closed under the category of “other resolutions.” Possible reasons cited by the government include the death of a partner, a decision to forgo annulment, or a subsequent marriage abroad.
These files still include striking examples of very young brides. In 2020, a 12-year-old Afghan girl was recorded as married to an 18-year-old man. In 2022, a 12-year-old Syrian girl was married to a 28-year-old Syrian man, and in 2023 a 12-year-old Afghan girl to a 21-year-old Afghan man. Multiple cases involving 13- and 14-year-old girls also appear in the data, and some reports note nine marriages in which the girl was under the age of 14 at the time of the union.
The demographic pattern is pronounced. Men from Syria accounted for 132 of the recorded cases, nearly 40 percent, followed by nationals of Bulgaria, Turkey, Afghanistan, and Iraq.
Child marriages between two German citizens made up only about 0.3 percent of the total. It is also unclear if these German citizens have a migration background, but given the pattern seen among foreigners, it is very probable.
Most of the 358 cases date from 2015 onward when the migration crisis truly began to grow in Germany. Boutakoglou highlighted the figures on social media, stating: “Almost without exception, every child marriage in Baden-Württemberg since 2017 can be traced back to mass migration! Nearly 40% of the child marriages were contracted between Syrians, while child marriages between two Germans account for only 0.3%.”
Emely Knorr, co-author of the government inquiry, wrote: “Child marriages are incompatible with our values. Children have a right to safety, education, and a self-determined future. That is why we need effective protection, early intervention, and decisive action against forced marriages.”
Germany raised the minimum marriage age to 18 in 2017 and generally does not recognize foreign marriages involving minors under certain conditions. The Tübingen authority deals exclusively with marriages contracted abroad that come to the attention of German registry offices.
The AfD inquiry was prompted in part by a Terre des Femmes leaflet warning of the risk of forced marriage during school holidays, but the state government said it had no financial involvement in the leaflet.
As Remix News has reported in the past, the issue is not just child marriages. Mass migration has brought new backward cultural norms to Europe that are completely incompatible with European human rights. For example, already in 2020, the German government admitted that there were at least 68,000 female genital mutilation victims in the country, rising 44 percent since 2017.
According to then German Minister for Family Affairs Franziska Giffey, mainly migration is to blame for the massive increase as many migrants coming to Germany commonly practice FGM in their own home countries. The practice, which is a human rights violation, involves the ritual cutting off some or all of the external female genitalia.
Germany is far from the only country dealing with this trend. Remix News reported this year that a female genital mutilation crisis had hit Paris, with over 140,000 such cases seen across the country.
Poland could veto the European Union’s next long-term budget if the European Commission proceeds with plans to divert a share of national proceeds from carbon-emission allowances into the EU’s common budget, according to Polish officials.
“If Brussels does not yet understand our opposition, they may be surprised if we block the budget,” one Polish government representative told RMF FM.
Under the Commission’s proposal for the EU budget for the 2028-2034 period, Poland may lose out.
Of the EU’s new “own resources” (the dedicated revenue streams that finance the EU budget), 30 percent of the proceeds from auctioning allowances under the existing Emissions Trading System (ETS) would go to Brussels rather than remaining with member states. The Commission estimates this would generate an average of €9.6 billion a year for the EU over the seven-year period. For Poland, which currently receives roughly €3.8 billion annually from the auctions, the shift would mean transferring about €1.14 billion a year to the EU budget.
The Irish presidency has suggested phasing in the new rate for countries that benefit from the Modernisation Fund, which aids the energy transition in lower-income member states. Polish officials have rejected the concession as inadequate.
Poland’s stance reflects the country’s still-heavy reliance on coal and the cost of the energy transition. Officials argue that the Emissions Trading System already drives up power prices and accounts for roughly 16 percent of a typical household electricity bill.
Any new source of EU revenue requires unanimous approval by member states and subsequent national ratification. In Poland, that process would need parliamentary consent and the signature of President Karol Nawrocki, who has criticized the ETS and called for its abolition.
The Commission’s proposal remains under discussion among member states. No final decision has been reached.
Nearly 38 percent of people who have received Germany’s basic income support for at least five years are foreign nationals, according to a Federal Employment Agency evaluation released in response to a parliamentary inquiry. In addition, separate data shows that 63.4 percent of people on welfare have a migration background, which includes foreigners and German citizens with a migration background, with the country on track to spend approximately €21.2 billion in 2026.
The figures for long-term welfare recipients, covering the end of 2025, show that roughly 1.4 million people have depended on the benefit for five years or longer. That group represents about two-fifths of all employable recipients of the support, formerly known as the citizen’s income and earlier as Hartz IV. Of those long-term recipients, 37.8 percent do not hold a German passport, while 62.2 percent are German citizens, the agency data indicate.
The new report does not mention the share of German citizens among long-term recipients who have a migration background. However, current data released for 2026 shows that 63.4 percent of people on welfare have a migration background.
Furthermore, in the first half of 2026, €10.6 billion has been spent on foreigners on welfare alone. If that figure continues at the same rate, that means for the entirety of 2026, it will cost €21.2 billion to pay for welfare for foreigners. In total, Germany spends at least €50 billion a year on foreigners, including housing, education, welfare, integration services, and border control.
However, this data does not reveal the true amount of money going to foreigners.
As Glut Magazine reports, the number of foreigners is decreasing in the welfare data while the number of “Germans” goes up. The reason for this? More of the foreigners are becoming German citizens through naturalizations.
“Part of this shift could be due to naturalizations. Anyone who receives a German passport while receiving citizen’s income no longer appears in the statistics as a foreigner, but as a German – along with their payments. Notably, in January 2026 the number of German recipients increased by around 12,000, while the number of Syrians decreased by 12,500 in the same month – more than in any other month. Syrians are the largest group among naturalized citizens. Since June 2025, their number in citizen’s income has decreased by 15.6 percent, more than any other large group,” the magazine wrote.
The evaluation, provided to the German Press Agency, also highlights sharp regional differences. Berlin recorded the highest share, with about 45 percent of its basic-income recipients in the long-term category, followed by Bremen at 43 percent. Nationwide, the statistics include 199,229 recipients under age 25.
René Springer, the Alternative for Germany (AfD) parliamentary group’s spokesperson on labor-market policy, criticized the findings.
“It cannot be that so many people receive citizen’s income at the taxpayers’ expense, even though they could go to work,” he said.
Springer renewed his party’s call for mandatory community service. Under the proposal, employable recipients who have been on basic income support for more than six months would be required to perform 15 hours of civic work per week. Those who refuse would face a shift to benefits in kind or, in the most severe cases, loss of support, according to the AfD.
Similar motions have drawn opposition from other parties in the Bundestag. During debate, CSU social-policy lawmaker Peter Aumer pointed to the core principle of the German welfare state that people who need help must receive it.
The federal government introduced stricter participation rules and benefit reductions in a recent reform of the system. The AfD has argued those changes do not go far enough and continues to press for a community-service requirement.
The citizen’s income was introduced in early 2023 and was replaced by a new basic income support framework in July 2026.
A video clip of a Black male student at ongoing protests in Belgium showed him saying he does not know why he is protesting, and that his message is to “smash everything.”
The clip is being used as another piece of evidence that the protests are not really about reforms or improving education standards, but instead serve as a pretext for ethnic minorities to riot, destroy, and attack police.
After he calls for protesters to “smash everything,” the crowd of Black youths and other ethnic minorities, many heavily masked, began hooting and screaming in response. The video further shows burning shared bicycles and electric scooters, the same products many on the left promote as an alternative to CO2-producing cars and trucks.
In a post from Belgian political activist Dries Van Langenhove, he writes about the video: “European people can’t comprehend this because we’re simply not the same. They destroy. It’s what they do. It’s who they are. Politicians now come up with all sorts of fake ‘solutions’: more money for education, more youth detention centres, military conscription, … but it’s all nonsense. There is only one real solution: they have to go back.”
Our ‘Belgian students’ when asked what they’re protesting against: “we don’t know, we’re here to destroy everything”.
European people can’t comprehend this because we’re simply not the same. They destroy. It’s what they do. It’s who they are.
Politicians now come up with all sorts of fake ‘solutions’: more money for education, more youth detention centres, military conscription, … but it’s all nonsense.
There is only one real solution: they have to go back.
The footage has circulated amid student protests in French-speaking Belgium, particularly in Liège and Brussels. The media reports that the protests are fueled by rising education costs, overcrowded classrooms and reforms in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. However, just as with the student protests in France, many of the participants cannot articulate any clear demand.
BREAKING: Rioters set fire to the entrance of Vauquelin High School in Paris and blocked the exits when staff tried to put the fire out.
A film crew recorded the terrifying attempted murder.
“The school staff was unable to put out the fire. The rioters blocked them just as the extinguisher nozzle came out; they blocked the exit.”
“The fire continues. You see all the silhouettes moving behind it; they continue to feed this fire, making it stronger and stronger. The school staff is not even going to try to put it out anymore; they can’t manage it. We can hear the principal here asking the hundred confined students to step back and move up to the first floor.”
The building was full of staff, students, and journalists, but these rioters appear ready to kill anyone still inside the vocational chemistry school.

In Belgium, authorities have also reported property damage, arson and clashes with police. Local media and police cited more than 100 arrests in Liège in recent days alone, many involving minors, with overall detentions since early October approaching or exceeding 200 in some counts.
Shop windows were smashed, fires set and objects thrown at officers; one video game retailer reported about €30,000 in stolen goods.

The student actions overlapped with a national strike Friday organized by Belgium’s major unions against government austerity measures aimed at reducing the deficit under Prime Minister Bart De Wever. Police estimated about 30,000 participants in the Brussels march, which was largely peaceful, though smaller groups of masked youths threw bottles, bricks, stones and fireworks, set fires and damaged property near the central station. Officers used water cannons and tear gas; authorities reported 21 detentions or arrests, including 13 minors.
De Wever has argued that painful budget measures are needed to avoid a debt spiral that would burden future generations.
The Alternative for Germany (AfD) has reached 40 percent support in Brandenburg for the first time in a new poll, twice the level of the governing Social Democrats (SPD) and enough to make any coalition without the party or its potential partners extremely difficult.
The Insa survey, conducted for the Märkische Allgemeine Zeitung, Märkische Oderzeitung and Lausitzer Rundschau and published this week, put the AfD at 40 percent, up 6 points from the institute’s previous Brandenburg poll in March.

The Social Democrats of longtime Minister-President Dietmar Woidke stood at 20 percent, down four points. The Christian Democrats (CDU), the SPD’s current coalition partner, fell five points to 9 percent. The Left Party also reached 9 percent, while the Greens and the Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW) each stood at 7 percent.
It is important to note that the next regular state election is not due until autumn 2029, which means support could shift substantially in three years. Nevertheless, the result for the AfD mirrors nationwide trends, especially in the east of Germany, where the AfD recently won in neighboring Saxony-Anhalt by earning 43.8 percent of the vote in the September election.
Brandenburg’s AfD state leader René Springer called the result “a tremendous vote of confidence” that showed “how great the desire for a political new beginning in Brandenburg is.” He added that the party’s goal remained an absolute majority so it could govern the state alone.
Trouble forming a coalition
The numbers underscore the difficulty of forming a government that excludes both the AfD and the left-wing BSW.
German schools face increasing violence due to mass immigration.
In the city of Cottbus, the public prosecutor has launched 18 criminal investigations into cases of serious violence in the migrant-dominated Regine Hildebrandt Primary School.
A father from the school told reporters there were "at least two to three attacks" a week before he took his children out of school. He said that the names of the perpetrators were "for example, Ali, Mohammed and Ahmed."
The school has drawn national attention due to extreme violence. In an open letter, parents reported physical attacks with serious injuries, including one student who suffered a concussion. In addition, students were using pepper spray, as well as fighting with kicks and punches.
Dennis Hohloch, an Alternative for Germany (AfD) MP, said in response: "Immigration is the biggest problem, the biggest safety risk for our children in our schools. We had 3,209 violent offenses at our schools in 2024. If you take the 190 school days a year, that’s 17 violent offenses a day. This figure is 20% higher than 4 years ago. Violence in schools, especially here in Brandenburg, can no longer be minimized or glossed over, even if the SPD and the Ministry of Education keep trying."
Brandenburg Interior Minister René Wilke affirmed that the list of criminal offenses in the just one school is "very, very long and varied." He described dangerous bodily harm, threats, insults, and coercion. Wilke described "aggressiveness and willingness to use violence being a prominent dimension."
Cottbus Mayor Tobias Schick, who belongs to the far-left SPD, admitted during a press conference in August 2025 that the problem is a consequence "of partly unregulated, partly uncontrolled immigration in recent years."
The current SPD-CDU coalition would command only 29 percent. In the 2024 state election, the SPD won with 30.9 percent, the AfD finished second with 29.2 percent, the BSW took 13.5 percent and the CDU 12.1 percent.
After that vote, Woidke initially formed a coalition with the BSW; the alliance collapsed earlier this year following internal BSW disputes, including the departure of Finance Minister Robert Crumbach and other lawmakers, and the SPD later reached a new agreement with the CDU.
Given the poll results in Brandenburg, another possible government coalition would involve the BSW and AfD. Currently, in Saxony-Anhalt, both parties are in discussions to form a ruling government. If that government forms and manages to hold together, it could form a template for ruling governments in the east of the country, where AfD and BSW are strongest. At the same time, the AfD is rapidly growing in the west of the country as well, which is key to its national support, as the western states have far higher population numbers and political weight than the east.
Prosecutors have opened an investigation into a local Christian Democratic Union (CDU) mayoral candidate of Turkish origin who is accused of staging a racially motivated attack on his own car days before an election he lost badly.
The Itzehoe public prosecutor’s office is examining allegations that Baris Karabacak faked the incident, according to the German newspaper Bild. Authorities obtained and executed a search warrant against the politician and seized at least one electronic device.
Karabacak, an entrepreneur who had previously served as chair of the Uetersen city council, was the CDU’s candidate in the Sept. 27 mayoral election in the town of roughly 18,000 people in the Pinneberg district of Schleswig-Holstein. He finished a distant third with 10.7 percent of the vote. Incumbent Mayor Dirk Woschei of the Social Democrats was reelected in the first round with 51.3 percent; independent candidate Marvin Schöpp received 38.1 percent.
A few days before the vote, local media including public broadcaster NDR reported that the windows of Karabacak’s car had been smashed overnight. A campaign flyer bearing an added message in all capital letters reading “NO TURKS — ALL OUT” was left behind. Police initially investigated the matter as possible incitement to hatred.
At the time, state CDU General Secretary Lukas Kilian publicly backed his party colleague and expressed pride in the CDU’s diversity. Woschei also offered solidarity, stating that political competition must be conducted with arguments and that “violence, hate and racist messages are an attack on the city’s democratic culture.”
Kilian’s tone has since shifted sharply. He told Bild he was “stunned” by the new allegations.
“Anyone who fakes a racist crime abuses the solidarity of many people and mocks the victims of real racism. There is no place for that in the CDU,” Kilian said. The state party has said that if the accusations are confirmed, Karabacak will be asked to resign his membership; failure to do so would trigger expulsion proceedings.
The case remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed. Karabacak has not publicly commented on the prosecutor’s probe.
The episode has drawn attention in a town where Karabacak had earlier faced internal party and council criticism over his leadership style before resigning as city council chair earlier in 2026 and then securing the CDU’s mayoral nomination.
Another hate crime hoax proven false in court
This is also notably not the first alleged hate crime hoax from a German politician. In 2023, Remix News reported on Manoj Subramaniam, a 33-year-old former local Green councilor in the German town of Erkelenz, who claimed he had been subjected to sustained acts of harassment by anonymous right-wing extremists. He showed police evidence of the abuse he had received, which included a threatening letter with a razor blade inserted and a swastika drawn onto his vehicle in red paint.
The case made national headlines last year with several prominent politicians offering their solidarity with Subramaniam for the alleged abuse he had received.
“Right-wing extremists are threatening political volunteers to silence them. Thank you, Manoj Subramaniam, for not being silent and raising your voice,” stated Lamya Kaddor, a member of the Bundestag.
Federal police took protective measures for the politician’s safety, and an intensive investigation was initiated by state security, all at considerable cost to the taxpayer. The only issue, however, was that Subramaniam had made it all up.
“The defendant actually wrote this note himself,” revealed Justus Wassenberg, the press spokesman for the public prosecutor’s office.
It transpired that Subramaniam had also drawn SS runes and a swastika onto the doorbell panel outside his house.
Subramaniam subsequently resigned from his position as a local councilor, and the Erkelenz District Court issued the disgraced politician a penalty order of €3,600 for faking criminal offenses, a fine he appealed.
He reportedly cried during his trial when his appeal failed.
2026 firebombing not an anti-Semitic attack after all
The investigation into the early 2026 firebombing of Brandenburg Antisemitism Commissioner Andreas Büttner’s home stunned the public.
While the case was initially treated as an Islamist or antisemitic hate crime, the German Public Prosecutor General’s Office now identifies two men from Büttner’s “own circle,” which belongs to the left, as the primary suspects.
One of the men is also linked to the threatening letter sent to Büttner. Meanwhile, Büttner said he was shocked and described it as the biggest betrayal of his life. He also stated that if the two were responsible, the act had nothing to do with antisemitism in his view. So far, the prosecutor’s office has continued to list Büttner as a witness or injured party, not a suspect. News outlets have highlighted that there was a €3,000 transfer from Büttner to one of the men shortly before the incident, which he called a loan, and other joint activities.
These details prompted public questions and speculation in some outlets about possible staging or a “false-flag” element, but no official finding has supported the claim that Büttner ordered or knew of the act in advance. The case still reportedly remains under investigation.
Germany’s Interior Ministry has ordered consulates to withhold citizenship certificates under a postwar restitution law after investigators found that dozens of applicants, most of them Chinese nationals, allegedly posed as descendants of people persecuted by the Nazis.
The Federal Office of Administration and the Interior Ministry instructed German missions abroad last week not to hand over naturalization documents “until further notice” and to postpone ceremonies, according to emails reported by Der Spiegel and confirmed in subsequent accounts. A ministry spokesperson said the procedures for so-called restitution naturalizations are under review “to further secure the procedure against corresponding criminal activities.”
The pause follows a Der Spiegel investigation published in early September that detailed an alleged scheme exploiting Article 116, Paragraph 2 of the Basic Law. That provision states that former German nationals whose citizenship was revoked between Jan. 30, 1933, and May 8, 1945, “for political, racial or religious reasons, and their descendants, shall be renaturalized on application.”
Prosecutors in Düsseldorf and the Federal Criminal Police Office are investigating 32 suspects on suspicion of document forgery and violations of the nationality law, authorities have confirmed. At least 28 of those under investigation are Chinese nationals, according to the Düsseldorf prosecutor’s office. German citizenship had already been granted in roughly half the cases. The suspects are said to live in Cyprus, Israel, Britain, and the United States.
Investigators allege the applicants submitted forged or notarized copies of documents and invented genealogical links to real Jewish families who fled or were stripped of citizenship under Nazi rule. In one example cited by Der Spiegel and other outlets, applicants claimed descent from Karl Siegfried Süßkind and Gertraud Süßkind, a couple who left Germany for British Palestine.
The Chinese applicants, including one identified as Liu H. who obtained citizenship in 2024 under the name Derrick Wong, were not actual descendants. Another person, identified as Tian C. and living in London, is accused of using the same fabricated lineage.
Some of those under investigation were already sought internationally on suspicion of serious crimes, including kidnapping and murder, Der Spiegel reported. Prosecutors have said they could not confirm details of foreign cases because they fall outside the German inquiry. The scheme was reportedly advertised on a Chinese social-media platform for more than half a million euros.
An Interior Ministry spokesperson, responding after the initial Spiegel report, said the ministry regretted the “identity thefts” in which “applicants misused biographies of those affected by National Socialism.” The spokesperson added that once sufficient information is available, the Federal Office of Administration will “immediately initiate withdrawal proceedings” in cases of fraudulently obtained citizenship. Unlawful naturalizations can generally be revoked within 10 years.
The Cologne-based office received 14,148 applications for restitution citizenship in 2025, Der Spiegel reported. Officials have noted that the special procedure differs from ordinary naturalization: staff often help applicants assemble proof rather than requiring them to produce every original document, a practice rooted in the law’s reparative purpose. Legitimate descendants may now face delays while certificates already prepared are held and files are rechecked.
The Interior Ministry, led by Alexander Dobrindt of the Christian Social Union, has described the suspension as a temporary measure to protect the integrity of the process, not a repeal of the constitutional right.
A Slovak member of the European Parliament said Wednesday that street violence, sexual attacks and Islamist agitation seen in parts of Western Europe have not occurred in Poland or Slovakia because those countries rejected the same migration policies as countries like France, Germany, and Belgium.
Milan Mazurek of the Europe of Sovereign Nations group spoke during a debate on Islamist entryism and Muslim Brotherhood networks. “Why we don’t have it in Slovakia? Why we don’t have it in Poland? What is the difference? We did not follow your insane migration policies,” he said.
As non-stop videos of riots in France in Belgium flood social media — including burning schools, teachers doused in gasoline, and police officers beaten unconscious — the contrast between countries like Poland and Slovakia with Western Europe has never been more clear.
BREAKING: Schools are burning across France as violent student blockades grow. The mayhem shows no sign of slowing down despite 625 arrests.
Oct. 1
Nelson-Mandela high school in Nantes burned, façade and hall destroyed. The school is expected to be closed for several days.
A fire at the Talensac private high school destroyed the entrance and doors.
Fires reported outside the Berthollet, Baudelaire and Sommeiller high schools; firefighters said they were working to stop the flames from reaching the buildings.
At the Lumière High School in Lyon, the facade was damaged by a fire. Police are investigating the case as arson.
At Haubourdin, near Lille, heavy damage was reported, and municipal buildings were ransacked; Beaupré High School will remain closed due to ongoing student blockades.
Sept. 30
A flaming car was rammed into Émile-Zola high school n Wattrelos. The school has been closed and a police investigation has been launched.
At the Paul-Éluard high school in the multicultural Paris suburb Saint-Denis, the gate was set on fire. The Paris region president said gate replacement, security and cleaning would cost €100,000. The total damage across regional high schools is now nearing €1 million, including roughly ten gates out of service.
At the Gustave-Eiffel high school, bin fires spread to the facades of two houses opposite the school. Firework mortars were reportedly fired at the school building.
In the Bordeaux area, clashes and fires were reported at Montesquieu, Les Iris and Élie-Faure, as well as Gustave-Eiffel. Ten arrests were reported for arson, damage and projectiles. A firefighter was injured near Montaigne the day before.
Sept. 29
At Jean-Mermoz high school in Montpellier, fires destroyed the caretaker’s lodge at a side entrance. Students were evacuated.
Mass arrests
As of Sept. 30, 356 high schools were disrupted, 625 people arrested, and 83 police officers and gendarmes injured, according to Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez.

Mazurek opened by addressing what he called progressive liberals, telling them: “Send them back! That’s for you, progressive liberals, because it was you who destroyed Western Europe.”
He said Western European cities “are in flames” and “controlled by violent criminals, rapists, murderers, and radical Islamists like Muslim Brotherhood.”
Certainly, the riots in France have shown a state increasingly losing control to a multicultural student body, many who reject not only France, but also the French people.
BREAKING: Migrant student youths have set fire to multiple buses and even fire trucks in the French city of Marseille as chaos spreads.
The Marseille transport authority, RTM, said several of its buses "were targeted near high schools in the north and east of Marseille," that "drivers had to leave their vehicles in a hurry and one of them was assaulted."
The regional Marseille government said an "unacceptable line" had been crossed at Victor Hugo High School, where "the principal, the deputy principal, the general secretary and the team leader were assaulted and doused with gasoline," according to the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, cited by BFMTV.
France is descending into chaos as student blockades grip the country. Over 650 arrests have been made.

He warned that the same open borders approach was being forced on Central and Eastern Europe “into acceptance of the same people that destroyed the West. Muslim population estimates place France at roughly 8 percent to 10 percent and Germany at 6 percent to 7 percent, with Sweden higher. Poland’s share is estimated at 0.1 percent to 0.2 percent, and Slovakia’s at about 0.1%, according to census figures and researcher estimates.
Overall foreign-born people accounted for 2.6 percent of Poland’s resident population and 4 percent of Slovakia’s. Those were among the lowest shares in the EU; the bloc average for people born outside their country of residence is far higher, and several Western European countries exceed 20 percent. Many of these foreign populations in Slovakia and Poland are also not from the Third World, but instead from neighboring Ukraine and other Eastern European nations.

Police-recorded sexual violence rates in 2023 stood at about 192 incidents per 100,000 inhabitants in Sweden, 131 in France and 63 in Germany, according to Statista.
Poland and Slovakia rank at the bottom of European figures. Rape counts compiled through the European Institute for Gender Equality run roughly 500 to 600 cases a year in Poland, or about 1.3 per 100,000 people, and about 100 cases in Slovakia, or about 1.8 per 100,000.
Meanwhile, Sweden recorded nearly 9,000 rape cases in the same period, France more than 40,000 and Germany more than 13,000.
Sweden’s National Council for Crime Prevention has found foreign-born suspects several times more likely to be registered for rape and lethal violence after controls for age and sex, with higher ratios for some Middle Eastern, North African and sub-Saharan African origin groups. French Interior Ministry data for 2023 show foreign nationals, particularly from African countries, overrepresented among suspects in sexual violence and attacks on officials. German police statistics show elevated non-citizen shares among suspects in violent and sexual offenses.
Furthermore, large riots with arson and attacks on police in high-immigration districts, including France’s ongoing 2026 school unrest that led to thousands of arrests, have no equivalent scale in Polish or Slovak cities.
Islamist attacks and fatalities since the mid-2010s have been concentrated in France, with smaller totals in Germany, Belgium and the United Kingdom. Poland and Slovakia have recorded no serious Islamic terror attacks. Notably, both Eastern European countries feature safe and secure Christmas markets, unlike Germany.
The European Parliament adopted a related resolution the following day by a vote of 381-167 calling for scrutiny of Muslim Brotherhood-linked networks and limits on certain EU funding.
More than 148,000 people remain subject to outstanding arrest warrants in Germany, and only 11.2 percent of them hold exclusively German citizenship, and overall, 87 percent of arrest warrant suspects are foreigners, according to figures the Federal Ministry of the Interior provided in response to a parliamentary inquiry.
Welt newspaper obtained the ministry’s reply to a question from Alternative for Germany (AfD) lawmaker Sebastian Münzenmaier.
Münzenmaier told Welt am Sonntag: “The figures speak for themselves: The overwhelming majority of criminals wanted on arrest warrants do not have a German passport.” He called for a “rigorous change of course” that would include permanent and complete border controls, the immediate termination of the stay of foreign criminals, and the enforcement of prison sentences in the country of origin.
While German citizens form the single largest group, at 16,671, Germany also features a population where 81 percent of people hold exclusively German citizenship. Romanian nationals follow closely with 16,123, then Polish nationals with 12,721, Georgian nationals with 6,869 and Turkish nationals with 6,696.
Alexander Throm, the domestic-policy spokesman for the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) parliamentary group, said: “Every open arrest warrant poses a security risk.”
He added that “the high proportion of foreign offenders, including many from other EU countries, shows that action must be taken.”
Throm also noted that border controls introduced in September 2024 have done more than limit illegal migration: “They have not only curbed illegal migration. Since their start in September 2024, over 17,500 people have also been apprehended at our borders with outstanding arrest warrants.”
Heiko Teggatz, chairman of the German Police Union, called the total worrying and said it “of course, represents a security policy problem.” State police forces, he told the paper, rarely have the staffing to mount dedicated searches; most arrests occur as a “chance hit or bycatch.” The union has long cited personnel shortages as a central obstacle to improved public safety.
Marcel Emmerich, the Greens’ domestic-policy spokesman, agreed that the volume of open warrants constitutes a serious problem, “especially when it comes to dangerous persons, extremists, violent or sex offenders.”
However, Emmerich rejected broader border checks, noting: “Instead of hoping for random hits at border controls, targeted searches are needed, especially for dangerous perpetrators of violence, threats and people from the field of politically motivated crime.”
Sebastian Fiedler, the Social Democratic Party’s domestic-policy spokesman in the Bundestag, cautioned against reading the aggregate figure as evidence of 148,000 undetected dangerous offenders still inside the country. “A significant portion of this is due to substitute prison sentences for unpaid fines. In North Rhine-Westphalia, more than half of all outstanding arrest warrants in total were such cases, he said. Warrants can also remain active against people who have already left Germany or been deported, so that any remaining sentence can be enforced if they return.
“For example, they will continue to be put out to tender for a search so that if they re-enter the country, a remaining prison sentence can be enforced,” Fiedler said.
While the crimes may include many petty offenses, the totals are stark. German nationals represent a minuscule share of the open arrest warrants in a country where 81 percent of the country is made up of German nationals.
A French member of the European Parliament and former police commissioner called for attempted-murder charges Thursday after masked protesters set fire to the entrance of a Bordeaux police station, blocking officers inside as smoke filled the building.
Matthieu Valet, now affiliated with the National Rally, said the attackers blocked the main door of the Capucins station and ignited trash bins piled against it while officers were still inside.
“It’s a criminal act of extreme gravity; we could have had a massacre,” MEP Valet wrote on X. “The perpetrators must be found and prosecuted for attempted murder. Ten years after the Viry-Châtillon attack, where police officers were burned alive while trapped in their patrol car, nothing has changed.”
BREAKING: Rioters attempted to murder police officers in Bordeaux, says French MEP.
Criminal rioters blocked the entrance to the Capucins police station and then set the station on fire.
They were actively trying to prevent the police from exiting the building, reported French MEP @mvalet_officiel.
Smoke filled the entire police station while the crowd cheered from outside. Officers tried to put out the flames but suffered from smoke inhalation and needed to evacuate.
French MEP Valet: “It’s a criminal act of extreme gravity; we could have had a massacre! The perpetrators must be found and prosecuted for attempted murder. Ten years after the Viry-Châtillon attack, where police officers were burned alive while trapped in their patrol car, nothing has changed!”
Bordeaux prosecutor Renaud Gaudeul said a group of about 10 hooded individuals deliberately stacked bins at the station’s entrance around 4 p.m. and set them alight during a high-school demonstration. The fire spread quickly along part of the facade. Three national police officers inside escaped through a rear emergency exit. No injuries were reported but the officers reportedly suffered from smoke inhalation.
Prosecutors opened an investigation for destruction of property by a means dangerous to people, committed because of the victims’ status as public officials, and for joining a group formed to prepare violence or property damage during a public demonstration. Those offenses can carry up to 20 years in prison. Authorities have not so far filed attempted-murder charges.
This is not the first time that protesters have been accused of setting buildings on fire and blocking exits. Earlier this week, rioters set fire to the entrance of Vauquelin High School in Paris and blocked the exit with 100 students and staff inside. A harrowing video from BFMTV captured the moment.

Graffiti reading “Vengeance for Eden” was sprayed on the station wall, referring to a student seriously injured by a police grenade launcher earlier in the protests in the Paris region.
The attack came on the margins of nationwide student blockades and marches over teacher shortages and school conditions, now in their third week. A high school in nearby Lormont was vandalized the same morning. Across France, the protests have produced thousands of arrests since late September, along with repeated use of fireworks mortars, stones and burning barricades.

The 2016 Viry-Châtillon case, in which officers were burned to death inside their vehicle during unrest outside Paris, remains a frequent reference point in French debates over attacks on police. Interior Ministry officials have defended recent tactics while announcing a temporary suspension of certain stun grenades after some minors picked them up and blew off their hands.

In nearly every video, racial and ethnic minorities, mostly Blacks and Arabs, are seen driving much of the unrest and physical violence.
The latest figures from the interior ministry indicate that 761 police officers have been injured in the ongoing unrest, according to Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez in an Oct. 7 hearing before the National Assembly’s law committee.
The count covers injuries since Sept. 28.
On Thursday, Oct. 8 alone, the Interior Ministry reported 48 additional officers and gendarmes injured. Nuñez said arrests and detentions stood at 6,629 as of the evening of Oct. 6.
According to Education Minister Édouard Geffray, about 65 teachers and education staff have been injured in the riots.
In a video posted to the social media platform X, a young woman was filmed screaming at a man whom she said she had seen expose his penis and begin masturbating on the bus, despite children being present. The man, who appears to have a migration background, speaks German with a clear accent.
“You can’t just sit there and start masturbating with your penis. There are children here! It’s broad daylight!” she asked him.
A third party filmed the encounter and blurred out the woman’s face. However, the man is clearly visible in the video. The Remix News translation of this video has been censored on X, which means it cannot be embedded, but readers can view it here. Below is the original German video.
It remains unclear whether the woman or anyone else on the bus filed a police report. However, Berlin police are permitted to investigate this incident even without a formal complaint. To make an arrest, they will first need to obtain a warrant.
